Animal Crossing: New Horizons saw a bit of a revival with its big 3.0 update early this year, as it hadn't exactly received much attention from Nintendo for quite some time – but it seems like developers still aren't done with the cozy gem, as a new patch is upon us now.
With 3.0 came a slew of new Zelda-themed items, a hotel resort, and more – it was no minor update by any means, packing quite a punch of content considering the fact that most of us figured Nintendo was finished with New Horizons for good.
Thankfully, we were wrong, and the devs continue to work on the 2020 banger. In fact, they've just dropped another little patch, bumping the game up to version 3.0.2.
Nintendo unveils its most recent Animal Crossing: New Horizons update and patch notes on its official support website, detailing what we can expect out of it – and y'all, this isn't just your run-of-the-mill hotfix.
This one includes a free goodie in celebration of the Animal Crossing series' 25th anniversary (because yes, we're all really that old): an adorable green leaf ornament to decorate our islands with.
It's available to claim via the in-game mail system, and I'm already obsessed. As for the bug fixes themselves – you know, the real meat of 3.0.2 – Nintendo remedies everything from persistent dungbeetles to villagers appearing in "unnatural locations" inside of our houses. Creepy, right?
The update also addresses problems with the Happy Home Paradise DLC, like disappearing animals. All in all, it's a smaller patch – but that's okay.
Between this new Animal Crossing: New Horizons update and the ever-exciting Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream release later this week, we cozy gamers are undeniably eating good.
Even though this isn't a big 4.0 patch or something of the sort, it still shows Nintendo is dedicated to the (let's face it, massive) New Horizons community – and I, for one, am quite thrilled to receive a free leaf lamp myself.
Although I'm not convinced that I'll drop Pokemon Pokopia to fully devote myself to Animal Crossing's shenanigans once more, I do think this is the push I needed to at least check on my villagers… and perhaps do a bit of decorating while I'm at it, too.
