A woman whose life was turned around after she was 'angry and naughty' as a child has said she hopes businesses will step forward to help the organisation after funding was cut. Now 25, Jade Wass attended the Base 51 youth service at the age of 11 and has now detailed why the work they do is so important.
She is not the only one who is keen to flag up the situation as business owners and youth workers have spoken out about the important fundraising they are doing to save Base 51 after it was announced last year that the youth service would face £360,0000 of cuts.
It is now holding open days and trying to get donations from businesses through networking to secure its future. Base 51 offers a range of services from counselling, employability support, gym sessions that cost only 50p and more.
