Anger over Britain's Got Talent final as Axel Blake crowned 2022 winner

Viewers shared their anger as comedian Axel Blake was crowned Britain's Got Talent 2022 winner.

Some fans have even claimed they will "never watch again", believing St Helens lad Jamie Leahey should have won, after he cracked the audience up with his ventriloquist dummy Chuck. Jamie "did Merseyside proud" as he finished as runner up.

Ahead of the final, odds had busker Maxwell Thorpe as the favourite, just ahead of 14-year-old comedian Eva Abley. After a vote dubbed "too close to call" viewers took to social media to share their anger over the result.

@Charlotte_K13 said: "'I'm so pleased that #JamieAndChuck came runner up! I still wish they'd won but they did amazingly well coming 2nd place. That boy seems like such a nice, polite, humble, genuine kid and he's so talented. The way he writes those jokes and does the ventriloquism is outstanding #BGT "

@DonnaBeaver21 said: "The kids were #BGT winners tonight in my eyes! They put Jamie & Chuck on 1st and fair play he got top 2! Eva was the winner, what a talent. One thing's for certain next year, 4 new judges please."

Another added: "How has Jamie the ventriloquist lad not won Britain's Got Talent this year?"

Axel beat runner up Jamie and third place act Tom to the £250,000 prize and place on the bill of the Royal Variety Performance.
