Angelo Fulgini is close to completing a move to Bundesliga side Mainz after Rangers weren't able to offer enough to allow him a preferred transfer.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has impressed in France for Angers and was an ever-present for them last season. There's been interest in his services and Rangers are one of the clubs said to be keen, according to Ouest France. Two bids have been booted out by the French club from Ibrox, holding out for a fee of €7 million (£5.9 million).
It claims that the Govan club 'submitted two offers slightly under the 7 million euros requested by President Saïd Chabane' and that a move to Germany with Mainz is now likely to happen. Whether or not that is what the player truly wants has been thrown into question though as it states that Rangers were his ideal choice this summer.
