Former Tottenham striker Louis Saha has named his former club as his wildcard prediction to win the English Premier League next season - due to the arrival of Ange Postecoglou.
The Australian ended his time at Celtic Park just days after lifting the Scottish Cup to secure a historic eighth Treble for the Hoops as he made the move to north London following a dominant spell north of the border - lifting two Scottish Premiership trophies, two League Cup trophies and a Scottish Cup at Hampden with a win over Inverness Caley Thistle in his final game. The success came off the back of a major rebuild in Glasgow's east end after the disastrous conclusion to Celtic's bid to claim 10 consecutive league titles.
Postecoglou will need to repeat the trick at Tottenham with a squad requiring major surgery following a series of ill-fated managerial appointments - Antonio Conte, Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason all stepped into the hot seat last term. They finished a lacklustre eighth in the table and missed out on European football, but the former Manchester United and Spurs frontman has high hopes for the new campaign.
The Frenchman noted the change in the dugout as a key factor in his surprise prediction. Asked for his dark horses to win the Premier League next term, Saha told Betfred: “Who knows?
"There are too many contenders to be honest. Tottenham could be a surprise package, which is weird to say.
"They’ve had a change in manager, Harry Kane could still potentially stay and they’re a great club, but I would be surprised if they caught up on the better teams in the league next season.”
