Ange Postecoglou knows exactly the potential enormity of beating Real Madrid.
The Celtic manager is well versed on his club’s unforgettable victories on Europe’s biggest stage, and the immense impact it can and has had in the past. Postecoglou has family and friends over from Australia to see this special occasion. If they weren’t here with him, they’d be up in the middle of the night Down Under watching. Same as he would be if he wasn’t in the technical area living it.
The Parkhead boss also understands that, with the cost of living crisis causing some fans heartache in their home lives, his team can give them an escapism and a night to recount forever just like some of those which have gone before. Obviously, nothing would make Postecoglou happier. But, on its own, it wouldn’t be enough. Not when he’s looking to make Celtic consistent competitors at this elite level.
