Ange Postecoglou won't leave Celtic job 'half finished' as Barry Ferguson's Rangers offer hears familiar echo

Neil McCann reckons there's no way Ange Postecoglou leaves his job at Celtic "half finished" to join Leeds. But he echoed Barry Ferguson in admitting the rest of Scottish football might just be encouraging him to go.

Postecoglou has turned Celtic around in 18 months in the job and has them on course for successive Premiership titles with a nine-point lead over Rangers in his second season. He's doing so well Record Sport columnist Ferguson extended a tongue-in-cheek offer of a lift to Leeds if he wants to pursue the move.

The Australian has been tight-lipped on the speculation but Record Sport reported there is a confidence at Parkhead he won't push for the move and is happy where he is. And McCann sees exactly why that is the case - but admits the rest of Scottish football might be keen to see him take up Ferguson on his offer.

He said on Sportscene: "I don't think it will happen now. Ange never gives anything away and he never gives any oxygen to the fire either. He just kills the questions off very quickly because he's just there to do a job for Celtic.

"You can clearly see he's got a lot of passion for the club. I would be very surprised if he walked out, even for such a great job at Leeds. I'd be surprised to see Ange walk out on a job that's half done.

"There's nothing won yet. He's got the League Cup final, he's into the quarter-finals of the Scottish and they've got a comfortable lead in the Premiership. I don't think he'll be rushing away, I don't see him as that type of guy.

"Unless they come with a truck full of money for him and offer him something he wants in terms of football (incentives), because I don't think he's driven by money. It would have to be a football thing.

"Everybody else would like to see him disappear because he's doing such a good job. But I can't see him doing it."
