Ange Postecoglou Tottenham talks denial as Celtic boss says agent 'wouldn't dare ask' ahead of final

Ange Postecoglou says he has NOT spoken to Tottenham - and claims his agents wouldn't dare ask him anything about his future this week.

The Celtic boss remains favourite to land the top job at the English Premier League side but he has once again stated his full focus is on the Hoops' Treble bid against Inverness in what is a 'very, very important' game to the Scottish champions. They head for Hampden tomorrow on the cusp of a domestic clean sweep after victory over Rangers in the League Cup Final and back to back Scottish Premiership titles.

But talk this week has surrounded the 57-year-old and his future with Daniel Levy said to have made the Parkhead boss his 'preferred candidate' to take over the job left by Antonio Conte earlier this year. Spurs had a poor season on the park finishing eighth in the EPL and will not compete in European football next season as a consequence.

Asked if he had spoken to the North London outfit - or if his agent Frank Trimboli has - The Celtic gaffer said: “They know better than to ask me anything this week mate. They know me very well. They wouldn’t dare ask me about anything.

“No [discussions about Spurs]. I know you find that surprising. That’s hard for you to understand because you are not me.

“You are not in my skin, you don’t live and breathe this job that I have and what Saturday means to me, these players, this football club. There is nothing more important – apart from my family obviously – than that game.

“It’s not just about me. This club is planning for next year, planning to bring players in. There is a full range of conversations going on, but my focus is on making sure we win a game of football which is very, very important to us.”
