Ange Postecoglou makes Kyogo assessment as Celtic striker scores despite lack of sharpness in Ross County win

Ange Postecoglou reckons Kyogo could have scored more against Ross County had he been sharper.

The Japanese striker made his first start since Boxing Day this afternoon and scored the opener as the Hoops beat Ross County 2-0.

Kyogo was also guilty, despite his goal, of missing a handful of big chances that he'd usually expect to put away.

His manager was content with the points and pleased with the player's contribution including his opening header.

But he accepted that the former Vissel Kobe ace would've had more had he been firing on all cylinders.

"It's great as he has missed a big chunk of the season and he is a hell of a player we have done well without him but it is great to have him back," the Australian told Sky Sports of having his striker back on the scoresheet.

"He is still not 100 per cent sharp as he would probably have had two or three today if he was in his best form but it was a great effort for him to get a goal for his reward."

Postecoglou's side secured the points off the back of last weekend's Rangers defeat in the Scottish Cup semi-final but for the man in charge it was never about making up for a loss.

"We never lost momentum," he asserted. "We lost a cup semi-final in extra time and in terms of momentum we have been very good for a very long time and that is why we sit where we sit and from my perspective, it wasn't about a reaction from last week.

"We were disappointed but it did not really affect anything that happened in the league and what was important for us is that we continued our good form.
