Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou quipped that he has only flown back to Australia to get away from his side's St Mirren loss while previewing a friendly with Premier League side Everton later this year - as his interviewer took a pop at rivals Rangers.
The Hoops had endured a 100 per cent record to the season until Real Madrid came to Parkhead, and despite a strong first half against the reigning Spanish and European champions, Carlo Ancelotti's men proved too strong for a resilient Celtic outfit who huffed and puffed until the very last minute.
Since then, the club have failed to win in their other two games; an unfortunate 1-1 draw against Shakhtar Donetsk in Warsaw where spurned chances from Giorgos Giakoumakis and Daizen Maeda should have put the game to bed, before a dour 2-0 loss to St Mirren last weekend spelled the end of their unbeaten domestic run. The Australian boss has since flown back to his homeland for the international break which will see no short of 13 Hoops stars fly out to represent their countries. And Postecoglou quipped that his return to Down Under was because of the humiliating defeat; whilst also admitting he will be hoping to beat Premier League side Everton due to his supporter loyalties to Liverpool as a boy.

"We lost for the first time in a year, that's why I left the country. The boys will be in good nick. It'll be a real game, and as you said, I wouldn't mind knocking off Everton! That would be nice," Postecoglou said live on Studio 10.
Presenter Tristan MacManus, who is Irish, then almost sparked controversy by claiming that there was only one team in Glasgow; making alludes to Rangers' poor form so far this season. "I am buzzing. Is there really another team in Scotland? I don't think so," MacManus said.
The Hoops are set to take on Everton, Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers in a mini-tournament before returning to action at the start of October.
