Ange Postecoglou in clear Celtic transfer stance amid speculation over Giakoumakis and Juranovic

Ange Postecoglou has sent a clear Celtic transfer message amid speculation over the futures of Giorgos Giakoumakis and Josip Juranovic.

The Hoops duo both played a part as the League Cup holders dumped Kilmarnock to reach the final of the competition. Daizen Maeda scored the opener after turning home after Kyle Lafferty's attempted clearance struck him and landed in the net before Greek hitman Giakoumakis climbed off the bench to add a late second in the 95th minute to make sure of the win.

Juranovic was also pitched in from the start with talk of a move this month rumbling on after an impressive World Cup campaign with Croatia. Both players joined the Hoops 18 months ago but could be set to leave Celtic this month with interest in the full-back from the likes of England and Italy while Giakoumakis is reported to have agreed a deal with Urawa Red Diamonds in the J-League.

The Hoops have added three new players in this window in the shape of Alistair Johnston, Yuki Kobayashi and Tomoki Iwata and Postecoglou has made it known he is about adding new faces rather than letting players depart.

Asked by John Hartson post-match if one or two bodies could leave if he expects to add one or two more, he told Viaplay Sport: "Well that is always a possibility when you come into the window. You know guys might move on for whatever reason.

"It's not about us or me pushing anybody out of the door. Every footballer has got decisions to make about their career and you respect that.

"I have good and honest conversations with the boys and if something comes to the table that one of the lads feels strongly about then we will discuss it. Right now I am more about bringing ones in than letting them go.

"We need to further strengthen. I still believe we have got to keep getting stronger. The three boys we've signed, none of them played today, but they are going to add to us. Hopefully we can get another in the door before the end of the window."
