Ange Postecoglou immediately wins over Tottenham stars after Antonio Conte mistake

Ange Postecoglou has been turning heads at Tottenham - despite only taking charge of his first training session as the club's head coach on Saturday.

Postecoglu, 57, was confirmed as Spurs' new permanent manager last month following his departure from Celtic. However, the Aussie had to wait until July 1 before leading his first session with the Tottenham squad as they prepare for the new Premier League campaign.

Less than a month into his tenure, the ex-Yokohama F. Marinos boss has already claimed an early victory. And the reason behind the win is as simple as planning a training schedule for the next month.

Under Antonio Conte, there was no schedule while a training time for the next day was decided the night before. This caused distress for many Spurs players and staff alike, who were unable to spent time away from the training ground and commit to other plans with their family and friends.

Now, that has all changed thanks to Postecoglou. According to the Daily Mail, the former treble-winning Celtic boss has taken a 'big step' to winning over staff and players due to a minuscule change in their schedule. The players have been given a written out plan heading into Tottenham's three pre-season friendlies and before the start of the competitive campaign.

Despite his relative lack of success in European football, the Tottenham fans are already a huge fan of Postecoglou after he convinced James Maddison to join. Spurs confirmed the arrival of the 26-year-old playmaker from Leicester last week in a deal worth around £40million.

Speaking to the Tottenham official website, Maddison said: "I'm absolutely thrilled. That feeling of being a Spurs player now is something I'm very excited about.

"I spoke to the manager, spoke to Daniel and they both spoke very highly of everything about the club. Speaking to the manager was very important, how he’s going to be, with that little bit of the unknown, so to have a decent chat with him and to get his thoughts on things, how he sees Spurs going this season.

"He said one thing to me on the call, I hope he won't mind me saying this, but he said, 'whether you come or not, you're going to see a completely different Spurs team under me', and that kind of stuck with me that he said that.

"Things like that are so important, building a good relationship with him, with Daniel, speaking to other players, obviously, I know a lot of them anyway, and playing against them for so many years, I feel like I have such a good understanding with Tottenham Hotspur and now I'm part of it, and I have this lovely white shirt on, I'm ready to go."

It has been a hectic start to the summer for Tottenham, who have already announced four arrivals including Maddison. Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro have signed on permanent deals after their loans expired, while Guglielmo Vicario also joined on a five-year contract from Empoli.

Now, free agent Manor Soloman is set to become their fifth signing of the summer after leaving Shakhtar Donetsk. The Israel international spent last season on loan at Fulham and impressed for the Cottagers', scoring four times in 19 Premier League appearances
