One of the top priorities for Daniel Levy and Ange Postecoglou over the next few weeks will be to tie up a permanent deal for Dejan Kulusevski. Although far from his best during the 2022/23 campaign, it is still a no-brainer to sign the Swedish ace once his 18-month loan deal from Juventus has come to an end.
Had Tottenham qualified for the Champions League last season then the 23-year-old's deal would have automatically been made permanent for €35m (£30m). Spurs still retain an option to buy him for the same amount, which is payable over five years, and football.london understands that the club fully expects to take up the option in their agreement.
Wowing in his first six months at Tottenham as he played a pivotal role in helping Antonio Conte's side qualify for the Champions League with five goals and eight assists in 18 Premier League games, Kulusevski managed the same amount of assists last season but his goals dropped to down to a disappointing two. It must be remembered, though, that the player is still young and his form will fluctuate from time to time.
