Ange Postecoglou has stated that he, his coaching staff and the players "won't leave any stone unturned" in pre-season as he bids to form a Tottenham team fans can get "excited by". Following Antonio Conte's departure from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at the end of March, the Lilywhites confirmed the appointment of the ex-Celtic manager as the Italian's replacement on Tuesday morning.
Postecoglou, who enjoyed two fantastic years in Glasgow where he led the Bhoys to five trophies from a possible six, has penned a four-year contract in N17. With only chairman Daniel Levy speaking at the time of his appointment, the 57-year-old has now spoken to the club's fans for the very first time as Tottenham head coach.
"Hi everyone, it's great to finally get started as manager of this great football club," he said in a video message on the club's social media channels. "I'm really looking forward to our task ahead. I think it's an exciting opportunity for us to now sort of set off in a new direction, play football and create an environment that embodies the values and traditions of this fantastic football club.
"Hopefully a team that you can all be proud of and more importantly, get excited by. I can assure you that right through pre-season, we won't leave any stone unturned - myself, the staff and the players - to make sure that when the league comes around that you'll all be excited as I am about the season ahead.
"So I really look forward to seeing everyone at the stadium, in particular at our first home game, and look forward to the journey ahead."
Playing an entertaining, attacking brand of football at Celtic Park, the hope is that Postecoglou will be able to replicate his football philosophy at Tottenham. Speaking following his announcement as head coach earlier in the week, chairman Levy explained exactly why the club had moved for the former Australia boss.

"Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play," said Levy. "He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy - everything that is important to our club. We are excited to have Ange join us as we prepare for the season ahead."
Postecoglou will discover Tottenham's first opponents of the 2023/24 Premier League season when the fixtures are released at 9am on Thursday, June 15. Prior to the opening game of the new term, Postecoglou and his Spurs players will visit Perth, Bangkok, and Singapore during their summer's pre-season tour to face West Ham United, Leicester City, and AS Roma.
