Ange Postecoglou and Celtic stars help raise £100,000 for charity as boss 'enthralls' fans

Manager Ange Postecoglou joined Celtic stars in helping raise £100,000 for charity on Thursday night.

The club have announced that the Celtic Foundation's annual sporting dinner raised a six-figure sum for good causes.

The event returned after a two-year absence due to Covid-19 and was attended by Postecoglou, captain Callum McGregor, Anthony Ralston and Jota.

Postecoglou 's interview on the night was said to have "enthralled" supporters and a series of video messages from players were also shown

Following the passing of clubs legends Bertie Auld and Wim Jansen, proceeds from the dinner will focus primarily on dementia care.

Celtic CEO Michael Nicholson hailed the evening as a "huge success".

He said: “I would like to thank everyone who made last night’s dinner such a huge success.

“Once again, the event has delivered hugely important support to Celtic FC Foundation, which will allow the Foundation to extend its work in helping people in need, particularly those who attend the dementia care initiatives.

"It is fantastic to be able to have our supporters and partners back at Celtic Park, working with us to make a positive difference to the lives of others. Sincere thanks to everyone who supported this great event."

The evening also featured appearances from club legends Tosh McKinlay, Roy Aitken and Charlie Mulgrew.
