Andy Walker reckons Celtic will look for a player who fits a similar profile to Giorgos Giakoumakis - if he departs Parkhead this month.
It was reported last month that talks over a fresh contract at the Scottish champions had broken down leaving the hitman unsettled. Interest has started to come since with FC Midtjylland the latest club believed to be keen on a move for the 28-year-old. He joined the Hoops 18 months ago in a deal from Dutch outfit VVV-Venlo after a stunning goal scoring season in the Netherlands.
He backed that up in his debut campaign in Scotland and has added a further eight strikes this campaign to take his total to 25 in 55 appearances. Since the World Cup return he's had to settle for a role from the bench with in-form Kyogo Furuhashi the preferred option. Pundit Walker is a huge fan of the Greek striker and reckons his last two outings against Rangers, bar the New Year game, have produced 'absolutely terrific' performances.

Speaking on Go Radio about Giakoumakis, he said: "I'm not sure. Celtic are always a club to do business with to make a profit on a player. I have said all along that I've enjoyed Giakoumakis, I've liked his attitude when he's pretty much been a regular substitute. When he comes on he can turn games, he was involved in the Kyogo goal by bustling a couple of Rangers players.
"His last two performances, apart from the game at New Year, against Rangers I think he was absolutely terrific. If he does go then Celtic will want to get someone similar."
Celtic have already added three new faces in this window after the arrivals of Alistair Johnston, Yuki Kobayashi and Tomoki Iwata. Further players could come in while departures are also expected including Josip Juranovic - with the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona keen.
