Villarreal left-back Alberto Moreno has revealed that his season is over.
The former Liverpool defender has established himself as a regular with the La Liga side under Unai Emery, as they push for a European spot in the Spanish top flight and continue to battle in the Champions League.
However, ahead of the Yellow Submarine's trip to Juventus in the second leg of their last-16 showdown in the European Cup, Villarreal confirmed Moreno has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his right knee.

In a statement, Villarreal said the former Sevilla played accrued the problem in the clash with Osasuna on Saturday.
"Once the tests are done, the worst possible news is confirmed," said Moreno on Twitter.
"I have a torn cruciate ligament and will be off the pitch for a while. Now it's time to get up and get ahead with positivity and always with a smile. Thanks for the messages."
On the 29-year-old's Instagram, current Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson posted "speedy recovery my friend", while Reds skipper Jordan Henderson said "recover well mate."
Moreno spent five years at Liverpool after joining from Sevilla in 2014.
Having arrived at Anfield with much promise, the Spain international failed to show the consistency required under Jurgen Klopp and eventually lost his place in the side to Robertson.
