Andy Reid totally forgot who Jordan Love is despite being one of the few NFL coaches to face him

Any day now (any day now), Jordan Love will likely become the Green Bay Packers’ presumable new starter. After the Aaron Rodgers trade/retirement situation is finally sorted out, the green and gold reins should rest in Love’s hands.

But with Love playing so sparingly in the three years of his career to date, he’s not exactly a household name. To some, he’s probably just the guy who’s coming after … Aaron Rodgers.

Don’t believe me? Take Andy Reid, for example.

He’s one of the greatest coaches in NFL history and the leader of the current defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. Reid is also one of the few people who has actually coached against Love in his only career start to date — a November 2021 Chiefs vs. Packers matchup where Rodgers wasn’t available.

Yet, when asked about Love, his prospects, and that game, Reid was dumbfounded. In a clip from NFL Network’s Good Morning Football, Reid absolutely couldn’t recall who the young Packers’ QB was:

Oh, that is GLORIOUS, but to be fair to Reid, I wouldn’t remember Love either.

That game was a 13-7 snoozefest where Love completed 19 of 34 passes for 190 yards and threw one touchdown and one interception. Is that really something Reid would remember about a year and a half later? I have a hard time believing Reid remembered Love’s performance even a few days after the game happened!

This was nothing to write home about, and it understandably didn’t leave an imprint on an all-timer.

NFL fans thought Reid's confusion about recalling Love was hilarious
