Andy Murray will be sidelined from the upcoming Monte Carlo Masters and Munich Open tournaments as he continues to recover from a severe ankle injury sustained during his recent match at the Miami Open. The 36-year-old British tennis star suffered a rolled ankle during a closely contested match against Czech player Tomas Machac, resulting in ruptured ligaments.

Following consultations with his team and medical experts, Murray has made the decision to withdraw from the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters and BMW Open Munich. The exact duration of his absence from the court remains uncertain as he explores treatment options with his medical team.

This setback comes as disappointing news for Murray, who has expressed his eagerness to return to competitive play at the earliest opportunity. Despite his previous statements about not planning an extended career beyond this summer, Murray had hoped to participate in the upcoming French Open at Roland Garros, scheduled to commence on May 26.

As a former world number one and winner of three Grand Slam titles, Murray's absence will be felt in the upcoming tournaments. With Wimbledon starting on July 1 and the Paris Games following later in the month, Murray's recovery timeline will be closely monitored by fans and tennis enthusiasts.

The Monte Carlo Masters, scheduled for April 7-14, and the Munich Open, set to take place from April 15-21, will proceed without Murray's participation as he focuses on his rehabilitation and return to full fitness.
