Andy Murray Set For Australian TV Role Following Retirement

Andy Murray is set to feature on Australian TV after the Scotsman retired from tennis and joined Novak Djokovic’s coaching staff.

Andy Murray Set For Australian TV Role Following Retirement

The 2012 Olympic Gold medalist retired from tennis in August of this year after exiting the Paris Olympics and made headlines for his recent venture.

Murray was appointed as a coach in Novak Djokovic’s team despite a fierce rivalry throughout their times on the court together.

The tennis icons have won a staggering 145 titles between them and Murray will now help the Serbian for the upcoming Australian Open – with Djokovic being a favourite on UK betting sites.

However, Murray’s commitments after retiring are not just with his former rival, as the Scotsman spend time with his family and will also appear in an Australian TV advert.

Reports say that Murray will play the role of an action man who is being hurried through Melbourne, before crashing through the window at a restaurant.

Recent images of Murray emerged, where the 37-year-old appeared to have a fake cut on his face and was wearing a trademark Castore tennis outfit.

Murray spoke on his time in Melbourne, saying: “I’m seeing a different Melbourne this time. I’ve not been around some of these parts before and it’s been good fun.

“It’s a big shoot. I’ve never done anything like this before because I never had the time. But it’s fun to do something like this.”

Murray has also been competing in various golf tournaments and the Scottish sportsman compared the difference in nerves between both sports.

He said: “It’s a different sort of nerves, because you are comfortable in the sort of tennis environment. I’m not thinking I’m going to walk out on the tennis court and forget how to hit the ball.

“Whereas here, there’s people standing five metres away from where I’m driving, and I’m like, I’m useless at this game. You just want to try and keep the ball in play and don’t mess up too much.

“I’m obviously getting to practice a lot more than the average person,” he added. “I obviously played a bit when I was younger, and if I can get the right sort of lessons and practise the right things, then yeah, I’ve got a chance of doing that.”
