Scottish tennis hero Andy Murray stunned Rutherglen Tennis Club by dropping in on their 'Mini Murray' Fun Day on Saturday.
The club were expecting his mum, famed tennis coach Judy Murray, for the event, but officials and players alike were surprised when the two-time Wimbledon champion showed up.
There were 'audible gasps' when Murray walked into the clubhouse.
Murray is in Glasgow, competing for Great Britain in the Davis Cup this weekend, and he was on hand to pose for photographs with players and coaches, and joined in some of the fun activities.
The event with Judy had been due to take place the previous weekend, but was postponed as a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II.
Club president Gareth Ellor said: "It was fantastic to welcome Judy Murray back to the club once again as she hosted our Mini Murray Day.
"We didn't know Andy was coming until five minutes before he arrived with Leon Smith, the Dais Cup captain, and Jonny O'Mara, another Scottish player doing well on the professional tour.
"To say we were all stunned is an understatement.
"There was an audible gasp as he walked into the club, followed by a spontaneous round of applause.
"Andy is a true hero and inspiration to all our members and we always hoped he would one day make it to the club, so it was a dream come true.
"Our juniors, and adults too, were star-struck and even spending a short time with him will live long in the memory.
"The sheer joy on the faces of the kids was tremendous to see and will give them even more motivation and inspiration to follow their tennis dreams."
Gareth added: "This was our way of celebrating the return of the Davis Cup to Glasgow and do our bit to use this event as a way of promoting the game of tennis within the surrounding communities by throwing open our doors and welcoming all.
"Judy and her team worked with our own coaching team and volunteers to put on a wonderful afternoon of tennis fun, giving lots of people, young and old, the chance to try tennis.
"It was great to see the club so busy, and so many people having so much fun in otherwise sombre time.
"For Judy and Andy to pick our club to support in such a generous way is a recognition of all the great work our team of volunteers do in running the club and supporting the local community.
"It has given us an extra boost and further motivated us to continue our good work."
