Andy Halliday admits he would take his beloved Rangers earning a point against Celtic this coming Sunday despite mauling their rivals last weekend.
The Light Blues dominated their rivals at Ibrox from start to finish and earned a comfortable and deserved 3-0 victory thanks to a Dan Neil brace and a first goal for Kevin Kelsy.
Gers were excellent from the opening bell and left Celts bruised and battered as they knocked them out of the Premier Sports Cup in emphatic fashion.
Halliday has already admitted this season that he feels Martin O'Neill's Hoops will lift the Premiership title at the end of the season and he stopped short of changing his mind despite Rangers' dominance.
But he did say he felt more confident that his old club could at least lay a glove even if he would take a point at Parkhead before kick-off as Celtic aim for revenge.
"I've certainly got a lot more confidence that Rangers can be a force that I didn't think they could be," Halliday said on Superscoreboard. "But the fact of the matter is, and Rangers could win, draw or lose, but if they lose they're eight points behind.
"So it would be difficult for me to change."
Asked by Roger Hannah if he would take a point at Celtic Park, Halliday added: "I think I would, yeah."
