Andy Gray has admitted he can't understand why Tottenham would make a move for Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou over Brendan Rodgers.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is facing mounting pressure as he looks to appoint a new boss with a major summer rebuild. Postecoglou has been linked with a raft of Premier League jobs due to his trophy-laden work with the Hoops - and will join an elite club of Treble-winning Parkhead bosses should he see off Inverness Caley Thistle in the Scottish Cup final.
The interest from Tottenham would represent a level above the previous clubs linked with Postecoglou as Levy looks for stability following Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte taking charge of the English Premier League giants - with three bosses stepping into the hot seat in North London. Gray and Richard Keys, however, have been left baffled that Spurs would turn to the Australian over Brendan Rodgers - who was axed by Leicester City on their way to relegation this term.
Speaking to beIN Sports, Keys said: "I do not know why Brendan Rodgers is not being considered for that job." Gray fired back: “What has Postecoglou got and done that Brendan Rodgers hasn’t bettered? Bettered."
Dismissive Keys chimed in: "Nothing. Nothing like what Brendan Rodgers has done."
Gray continued to sound off as he ripped apart the former Australia and Yokohama F Marinos' bosses achievements while gushing over former Celtic gaffer Rodgers. He added: “Rodgers has got so much more experience about this league and managing big clubs and managing big players, as he did at Liverpool.
"I don’t get that one. There must be something stopping these big clubs even talking to Brendan Rodgers."
