London Labour MPs hailed Andy Burnham’s victory in the Makerfield by-election as he was due to head back to Parliament and seek to replace Sir Keir Starmer as Prime Minister.
Some were openly calling for Sir Keir to stand aside, while others were staying quiet on their view of the PM’s future after Mr Burnham easily beat Reform UK’s Robert Kenyon.
