Everton star Andros Townsend has been speaking about the club's summer transfer business and says the deal for Richarlison to join Tottenham Hotspur was 'good for both parties'.
The Brazilian made the £60m move to North London earlier in the summer. He joined Antonio Conte's side on a five-year deal after four years on Merseyside. He's so far made eight appearances in all competitions for Spurs and scored twice in their Champions League group stage clash against Marseille earlier this month.
Townsend, who joined Everton from Crystal Palace last year, believes the deal was good for both the player and the club. He highlighted the arrivals of Neal Maupay and Amadou Onana and says the club have 'done well' off the back of Richarlison 's exit.

“Any club would miss the quality of Richarlison and what he brings to the team but I think we’ve been able to add four or five players for the price of Richarlison," he said on talkSPORT. “We’ve added players with the quality and mentality of Richarlison.
"You see him playing for Spurs chasing for every ball and getting the crowd up for it and I think we have that in Neal Maupay and Onana in midfield. We’ve added more bodies that we needed, and more bodies that we didn’t have last season. Yes, we would love Richarlison, but we have done well off the back of that, and he’s scoring in the Champions League, so it’s been a good deal for both parties.”
Everton had a busy summer transfer window. As well as Onana and Maupay, they also signed James Garner and brought back Idrissa Gueye. James Tarkowski joined on a free transfer while another Burnley player, Dwight McNeil, also arrived. Conor Coady and Ruben Vinagre both come in on loan, too.
Maupay has had an immediate impact under Frank Lampard and scored the winning goal in the 1-0 victory over West Ham United at the weekend. Everton currently sit 13th in the table.
