Andrew Wiggins To Return For Warriors After Personal Family Matter

Golden State Warriors

Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins is set to make his return to the court for Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks after missing the team's last four matchups. Wiggins had been away attending to a personal family matter, but he rejoined the team on Monday and participated in practice on Tuesday, receiving the green light from coach Steve Kerr to play.

Wiggins expressed that he had to prioritize his family obligations and is now back with the team, ready to resume his on-court duties. Throughout his absence, he remained in communication with Kerr and the team's head trainer, Rick Celebrini. While the situation that led to his time off remains ongoing, Wiggins is taking things one day at a time.

The Warriors managed a 3-1 record in Wiggins' absence, with rookie Moses Moody stepping up in his place. Kerr acknowledged Moody's contributions and stated that the young player will still see playing time despite Wiggins' return to the starting lineup.

Wiggins, who missed 25 games last season for a similar personal matter, emphasized that life takes precedence over basketball. Kerr echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of supporting players in dealing with family-related issues.

So far this season, Wiggins has been averaging 12.7 points and 4.3 rebounds in 27.2 minutes per game for the Warriors. His return comes as the team begins a three-game homestand, with expectations high for his impact on the court.
