Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield is reportedly keen to rekindle his relationship with ex-girlfriend Alyssa Miller after taking a step back from the Hollywood limelight.
Earlier this month the Mirror reported that 38-year old Garfield and Miller, 32, had agreed to go their separate ways, just days after the actor missed out on an Oscar to fellow nominee Will Smith.
Garfield's decision to put his career on hold shocked fans, however, as he cited a desire "to be ordinary for a while" whilst reconsidering "what I want to do next and who I want to be" as a reason for his break.
Now, a source has reportedly told the Sun : "Andrew's decision to take a break was driven by a lot of factors and one of them was Alyssa.
"They had something really special and their time apart has made him think twice. Andrew wants to settle down and have a more normal life. And he can see a future with him and Alyssa.
"Of course it is early days but he’s made it clear a reconciliation is something he wants to work towards."
Garfield appeared on US TV show The View on Thursday, meanwhile, assuring fans he wasn't leaving the industry for good.
"I don't know where that came from. I just said I'm going to rest, I'm going to have a holiday," said Garfield, who was born in Los Angeles, but raised in Epsom, Surrey.
"I think people make a story out of nothing. I'm not retiring."
Alyssa previously dated Jake Gyllenhaal in 2014 and is believed to have been briefly married to Tame Impala musician Cam Avery in 2018.
Andrew's past relationships, meanwhile, include a high-profile four-year romance with Emma Stone between 2011 and 2015, and dates with Rita Ora.
The Mirror has contacted representatives for Garfield and Miller for comment.
