Former Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen may already leave Barcelona as a free agent if they can't get him signed up with La Liga in time for their opening game of the 2022-23 campaign. A move which could have an impact on the Wesley Fofana talks.
Since the Danish centre-half announced that he was to leave Stamford Bridge after five years in SW6 back in early July, Barcelona was always viewed as his dream destination for a career alteration. The 26-year-old has featured heavily in Barca's pre-season tour of the United States alongside other new recruits, Jules Kounde, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski, but all are currently not eligible for the weekend's opener against Rayo Vallecano.
This is because La Liga continues to reject Barcelona's applications to register their new recruits because of the dire situation that the club find itself in. In order to solve this, rumour has it that Blues targets Frenkie de Jong and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have to be sold to generate funds and, more importantly, space on the wage bill.
