Andrea McLean has no regrets over Loose Women exit as she returns to ITV for first time

Andrea McLean insists she no regrets over her exit from Loose Women.

The presenter made her return to the ITV studios for the first time, and she admits it was weird to be back - although she insists she has no regrets about deciding to quit her role on the ITV lunchtime show.

Andrea quit Loose Women in November 2020 after over a decade at the helm of the programme, explaining her decision at the time as she admitted it was a "really big decision" for her.

And making her return to ITV to discuss her new book, Andrea has admitted she felt very scared at the time.

Lorraine asked her if it "felt weird" being back, to which she replied: "This is my first time being back on TV and back in the room that we share with Loose. It was a [brave decision] and the reason the whole book came about was because at the time so many people said to me you're so brave to do that thing, to pivot.

"And all I kept thinking was I don't feel brave, I feel really scared but it was just something I really needed to do. And then I thought, right, how can I bottle everything I've used to do a brave thing when I've felt scared and I put together a 10 day challenge for my lovely community and then saw the results and it made me brave enough."

Back in November 2020, Andrea confirmed her exit during a live programme.

"I want to put myself out there, see what the universe has in store to help as many women as I possibly can, in whatever way that means, but for now it's with my website, all the love and effort I am putting into that, that will be my focus," she said of her future plans, as she left her co-stars in tears with her announcement.

She described her decision to leave daytime TV as "brave" but feared she'd have to sell her house.

She added: "Leaving a job that you've done for two decades and it's all you've ever known really, to absolutely turn right and do something very different, is a very emotional experience as well as a very practical one.

"We sat down and said, ‘What’s the worst thing that can happen?' Right I never earn a penny. We'll have to sell the house. We may have to sell the children, maybe the dog!"
