Andi Peters wows viewers with youthful appearance as they discover his real age

TV viewers are convinced Andi Peters has discovered the Fountain of Eternal Youth.

This Morning viewers were stunned to discover the broadcaster's real age on yesterday's show, all thanks to a major throwback clip of the star presenting a BBC programme as a teenager.

Andi joined Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on Wednesday's edition of the ITV show, as he and Andy Crane as paid tribute to the BBC's 100 year anniversary.

Phil, Andi and Andy all cut their presenting teeth on the state-funded broadcaster, hosting children's television show, The Broom Cupboard.

As they discussed the BBC on This Morning, the trio all reminisced about the early days of their career and spending time with puppet Gordon the Gopher on the iconic TV show.

The ITV show then went on to broadcast footage of the three stars presenting the show back in the day, looking back on when Andi succeeded Phil on The Broom Cupboard in 1989 when he was aged just 19-years-old.

Fans watching at home were stunned by the throwback which revealed Andi is currently 52-years-old.

"@andipeters and be still looks years younger than me ..even though I'm younger," one fan quipped on Twitter, as another wrote: "Andi Peters is 52 YEARS OLD?!?!"

"Andi peters still looks the same from when he was presenting Children's BBC," a third observed, with yet another amazed viewer tweeting: "I’m sorry I refuse to believe @andipeters is of a certain age. That man doesn’t age at all."

Andy, who appeared on the show alongside Andi, took to Twitter himself to compliment both Andi and Phil after the show aired.

Sharing a snap of himself beaming alongside the two youthful-looking presenters, he wrote: "No - you’re the one who hasn’t aged a bit …"

"Where's Ed and Gordon? They were the real stars," one cheeky fan quipped, referring to the trio's puppet co-stars from back in the day.

Andi hosted The Broom Cupboard Edd the Duck, a hand puppet with a green mohican, for just over four years before leaving in 1993.

He went on to front Take Two, a BBC Children's comments programme, and BBC Children's television programme Live & Kicking with Emma Forbes and John Barrowman.

Over recent years, Andi has been a regular fixture on ITV shows such as Good Morning Britain and Lorraine.

As he turned 50 in 2020, a whole host of stars couldn't believe Andi's real age - with Phil writing on social media at the time: "That is an almighty shock! How is that possible?"

Phil's This Morning co-host Holly Willoughby added: "That can't be right? He looks about 21! Happy Birthday you gorgeous man!"

Piers Morgan had a cheekier comment as Andi joined the 50 club, quipping: "I would get you a present but your plastic surgeon has already done that for you hasn't he."
