VIJAYAWADA: Nellore police busted an interstate red sanders smuggling racket and nabbed two persons and seized 20 logs and a car worth 15 lakh.
According to police, on receipt of credible information on red sanders smuggling on Wednesday evening, a special team busted the racket .
The arrested were identified as Sirivelli Naresh (36) and Peram Praveen (28) of Nellore district.
Police said the accused were involved in a similar crime in 2018.
They were addicted to vices and to earn easy money, they hatched a plan to smuggle red sanders which have a huge demand in the international market.
