Andhra Pradesh reported three deaths due to COVID-19 and 335 infections in the 24 hours ending Sunday morning.
Only 19,241 samples were tested during the period and 1.74% of them turned positive. It was the lowest daily test positivity rate in the past one-and-a-half months.
Positivity rate
The overall positivity rate of the 3.29 crore samples tested so far remained at 7.02%. The cumulative toll and tally increased to 14,713 and 23,16,285 respectively.
The number of recoveries and the recovery rate increased to 22,94,818 and 99.07% respectively as 936 patients recovered in the past day.
The active cases tally also came down to 6,754, and 3,120 of them were in East Godavari district. The active cases tally in Krishna district was 985 active. It was 888 in West Godavari. Vizianagaram, Kurnool and Srikakulam reported fewer than 100 active cases each.
Chittoor, Krishna and West Godavari reported one death each in the past day. West Godavari reported 84 new cases. It was followed by East Godavari (52); Guntur (36); Anantapur (33); Krishna (26); Prakasam (25); Nellore (19); Kadapa (18); Visakhapatnam (18); Chittoor (16); Vizianagaram (3); and Srikakulam (1).
