Andhra Pradesh: Denied ambulance, Nellore man carries son’s body on bike

VIJAYAWADA: A father was forced to carry the body of his son on a bike after ambulances reportedly refused to transport it to their home in Sangam village in Nellore district.

However, police denied the charge that ambulances refused to extend service, and said the boy’s father did not wait till the time an ambulance could be arranged. According to police, two boys — Sriram (8) and Eshwar (10) — of Sangam in Nellore district went to Kanigiri reservoir canal and accidentally fell into it while playing. Family members who noticed the incident rushed to the spot. Sriram’s body was first recovered and it was rushed to a local hospital.
