Andhra Pradesh: Ayyanna Patrudu seeks in-depth inquiry into ‘misuse’ of public money to the tune of ₹48,000 crore

Former Minster and senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu demanded an in-depth inquiry into the alleged misappropriation of public money to the tune of over ₹48,000 crore by the State government. He alleged that the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report clearly stated that the funds were misused by the State government.

“This is public money, so the Chief Minister, Finance Minister and the Finance Department officials should explain where the money has gone,” he said, alleging that the YSR Congress Party government has pushed the State into a debt trap.

Addressing a press conference at the TDP office here on Sunday, Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu criticised the State government on the three-capital issue. He alleged that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy who has become Chief Minister, after being granted bail by the court, was now criticising court orders. He alleged that the State government has failed to implement prohibition, as promised. He alleged that the government has also failed to help the victims/family members of those who have lost their lives after allegedly consuming spurious liquor at Jangareddygudem in West Godavari district.

Party formation day

He said that March 29 marks the 40 years of formation of TDP, as such a programme would be organised in Hyderabad. Next month, a three-day Mahanadu would also be conducted in Vijayawada. He said that it was his good fortune to have been in the party all these years, and recalled his days working under party founder and former Chief Minister of combined Andhra Pradesh N.T. Rama Rao.
