ANANTA is officially confirmed to release on Jan. 15, 2027, and will unfold between two cities, each with distinct lifestyles for you to explore.
The developer revealed ANANTA‘s release date during gamescom Opening Night Live on Aug. 25, and alongside it, we got a glimpse of Chongxiao’s Lingyun City, the main character’s hometown. It’s the second city in the game after Nova City, and is a vast (and much greener) metropolis.
The latest reveal had less focus on combat, like Spider-Man-esque powers or Watch Dogs-inspired hacking, and more on Chongxiao itself. From flying cars to busy markets and skateboarding, the game promises plenty of “side quests” to do as you explore the city. We also got a sneak peek at martial arts fights, swordfights, and what looked like an amusement park minigame.
Throughout ANANTA‘s story, you work to rebuild the A.C.D., Nova City’s peacekeeping organization. Your first step is to go viral, which, thanks to your powers, gets you the name “Yeet Master.” The trailer had plenty of references to things like The Great Gatsby‘s iconic toast scene, Yamcha’s death pose from Dragon Ball, and more.
ANANTA‘s gameplay trailer was revealed back in September 2025 and already showed a lot of everyday elements in a GTA-like open world. Things like concerts, social media, power slap competitions, and comic book stores. Still, that is not to forget all the different enemies and otherworldly stuff happening across the cities.
It’s a grand mix of GTA, Spider-Man, Watch Dogs, and an anime adventure. Now with two cities, the game promises to be bigger than ever once it launches on Jan. 15, 2027, on PS5, PC, and mobile.
