Believe it or not, Michigan State football has one of the top resumes in all of college football through the first two weeks.
Michigan State football is currently ranked in the top five nationally of ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) rating for strength of record. The Spartans rank at No. 5 nationally, which is the highest of any team from the Big Ten.
The Spartans are 2-0 on the year with a notable road upset victory over Maryland last week. Michigan State picked up a home non-conference victory over Florida Atlantic in its opener as well.
This early in the season, analytics aren’t always 100% accurate, but this is certainly interesting to see for the Spartans. It would suggest that Michigan State owns one of the best wins thus far in the year thanks to last week’s performance at Maryland.
