An 80-year-old New Hampshire voter is turning to a wood stove this winter as US heating oil prices exceed $6 (£4.49) a gallon.

Rick Russman, a lifelong Republican from Kingston, told Reuters on 24 October that soaring costs had influenced his decision to support Democrat Chris Pappas.
