Amy Schumer has revealed that she still feels 'triggered and traumatised' after Will Smith smacked Chris Rock across the face at the Oscars on Sunday night.
The Trainwreck actress, 40, was co-hosting the 94th Academy Awards alongside Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall, when the shocking incident happened between Smith and Rock after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's alopecia battle.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Amy addressed the drama as she made a joke of the smack in a bid to promote her new Hulu show.
Amy's post subtly hinted that she's on comedian Chris Rock's side as she took a savage swipe at Oscar-winner Will.
The much-loved Hollywood star suggested that Will must be dealing with a lot of 'pain' in order for him to react in such a violent way after Chris' joke, and she insisted that she is still 'sickened' after witnessing the attack.
“I think we can all agree that the best way to unpack what happened is to stream my series @lifeandbethhulu and see me on tour this fall. But for real,” the actress penned.
“Still triggered and traumatized. I love my friend @chrisrock and believe he handled it like a pro. Stayed up there and gave an Oscar to his friend @questlove and the whole thing was so disturbing.”
The 40-year-old said she feels Will must have 'so much pain' inside for him to react that way, and admitted that she is still reeling over what happened in front of her eyes on Sunday night.
“I’m still in shock and stunned and sad,” Amy added.
“I'm proud of myself and my cohosts. But yeah. Waiting for this sickening feeling to go away from what we all witnessed.”
Following the shocking incident, Will has issued a grovelling apology to Chris on social media.
The Men In Black star insisted that he was 'out of line' for acting the way he did.
“Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behaviour at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable,” he began.
"Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.
“I would like to publicly apologise to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness,” he continued.
Will went on to apologise to the academy as he added: “I would also like to apologise to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world.
"I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us,” he concluded.
“I am a work in progress. Sincerely, Will.”.
