An armed man charged towards Amy Acton, Ohio's Democratic nominee for governor, at a county fair on Sunday, knocking two people down and injuring several before troopers stopped him. Acton was unharmed and stayed to treat one of the wounded.
The attack happened around 2:30pm at the Canfield Fair in Mahoning County, near Youngstown, where Acton was speaking to supporters at the local Democratic Party tent. The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the man had been filming her on his phone before he pushed through the crowd and shoved attendees aside as he moved towards her.
