Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has given his honest reaction after his team succumbed to a 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Amorim has acknowledged that everything is difficult at Man Utd at the moment but is confident that the rough patch will not go on forever.
Manchester United slipped to a demoralizing 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford in their Premier League Matchday 17 meeting on Sunday, 22nd December. Dean Hujisen opened the scoring for Bournemouth in the 29th minute before Justin Kluivert (61′ – penalty) and Antoine Semenyo (63′) scored in quick succession to seal a historic win for the Cherries.
It marked Manchester United’s seventh defeat in the Premier League this season. With only 22 points to their name after 17 rounds of fixtures, United find themselves in 13th place in the English top-flight rankings.
Manchester United: Ruben Amorim Acknowledges Everything Is Difficult and Players Are Anxious
Speaking to the press after the defeat on Sunday, Amorim said (via Football 365):
“In this moment, everything is so hard. At a club like Manchester United, to lose 3-0 at home, it’s really tough for everybody.
“Of course, the fans are really disappointed and tired. You can feel it in the stadium in the first play. At the first goal-kick with Andre Onana, he’s thinking what to do and pushing the other guys and everybody is so anxious. I understand that, but we have to face it.”
After acknowledging the dread that surrounded Manchester United, he urged his players to be brave and strongly embrace their ideas.
The Portuguese manager added:
“It’s so much easier to pass on an idea when you’re winning and you’re scoring and you’re not conceding. But it’s also a great privilege to be here, so we have to continue now.
“Nothing bad lasts forever and nothing good lasts forever, so we have to continue again and be very strong in our ideas, especially in the bad moments. We will do it and try to win the next game.”
Manchester United will return to Premier League action with a trip to Molineux for their Matchday 18 clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday, 26th December.
