Amnesty law takes effect Monday, excludes lese majeste offences

The Peaceful Society Promotion Act has been published in the Royal Gazette and will take effect on Monday, granting amnesty for a wide range of political offences committed over the past two decades, but excluding lese majeste cases.

The law covers people who took part in political demonstrations or political expression stemming from political conflict or political motivations between Jan 1, 2005 and July 16, 2025.
