Some Americans with disabilities could be wrongly classified under plans to dramatically shrink the federal government's most influential health survey, advocates and researchers have warned.
As many as a quarter of wheelchair users and more than a third of people who are blind or deaf could be miscategorized because of the shorter survey, according to some advocates and researchers. They say that could leave the government unable to recognize the health needs of many disabled Americans, or the damage caused by changes to Medicaid or other health insurance programs.
