Those who have been competing this year follow in the footsteps of numerous former entries, including the likes of ABBA and Celine Dion who are among past competitors.
A number of American performers have competed in the international song contest over the years, though for other countries as the US doesn't compete.
We've taken a look back at just some of these previous entries, including an act whose performance won the competition, and another who competed on two occasions.
