A TikTok user has gone viral for a video in which he appears to mispronounce Edinburgh, only to be bluntly corrected by a local.
The video was uploaded by user rowleyy last week, and has since been viewed more than 2.7 million times on the social media platform. The clip, captioned "Meeting the locals", is actually a sketch and the user is a comedian.
In the video, he portrays an American TikTok star visiting the capital for the Fringe. Standing on Princes Street, he says: "What's up TikTok, I'm in Edinburg right now."

Many people will be familiar with the incorrect way many Americans pronounce Edinburgh, ending the word with a harsh G sound.
He is soon corrected by an unseen Scotsman, who corrects: "It's 'Edinburgh', you f*****g w**k."
In response, the TikTok star response with an confused "what", before the local bluntly states "f**k up".
Since being posted, the hilarious clip has received over 269,000 likes and more than 5,000 comments from fellow TikTok users. Many were quick to share their opinions of the sketch.
"They sound lovely," one commented sarcastically.
A second joked: "EdinBURG is my favourite city in Scotland".
"Ya got off lightly there," posted a third, while a fourth echoed: "That was a polite reaction he gave you".
"That’s a Glasgow reaction," argued a fifth.
Meanwhile, a sixth joked: "I live in Scotland and this is fair play, it’s not hate, it’s how we say you’re wrong".
