American Airlines Flight 2398 landed safely at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on 21 August after a passenger's laptop caught fire. The flight was travelling from Atlanta.

The incident has renewed attention on federal lithium battery safety rules. The Airbus A321 had about 133 people on board when smoke appeared in the cabin.
