Hundreds of patients are waiting for ambulances as paramedics plead for help in Manchester with NHS staff put under immense pressure, it is reported.
Medical director of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) Chris Grant has admitted that 111 and 999 services were being overwhelmed and apologised as 600 people were left stranded waiting for an ambulance across Greater Manchester on Monday night, reported the Manchester Evening News.
