Amber Heard's sister has spoken out about her early fears over her sister's marriage to Johnny Depp, saying the pair were rowing from early on.
Aquaman's Amber and Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny are currently embroiled in a $50million libel lawsuit, with Johnny suing Amber for libel.
The actress, wrote a 2018 article about her experiences of domestic abuse in The Washington Post and although she didn't name Johnny his lawyers say it implies falsely that Amber was abused by him during their marriage.
The couple wed in 2015, but had been dating for three years before that.
During Johnny's 2020 libel case against The Sun, Amber's sister Whitney Henriquez provided evidence.
She said at the time that she "begged" Amber not to get hitched to Johnny.
Whitney said she initially thought Johnny was "very sweet" but became worried when Amber told her they had "big fights".
Amber's sister claimed she became close with Johnny, "like brother and sister", with the actor calling her "Sis".
She said their relationship was "tumultuous from the start" explaining: "I wasn’t aware of violence at the beginning but I remember Amber talking about them having big fights."
She also said she told Amber "him putting a ring on her finger was not going to stop him hitting her".
Johnny has slammed claims he has ever been violent towards Amber.
Whitney said Amber was one of her "best friends" but said they stopped speaking in 2015 when she was accused of selling her wedding pictures to the press.
Prior to that she told the court she was living at one of Depp's apartments rent-free but was asked to leave.
She said "I fell out with both of them."
"I was upset that she believed Johnny over me, and there was a long period in 2015 when I was estranged from Amber and Johnny because of this."
Amber's dad David had a small construction company outside of Austin and her mum Patricia was an internet researcher.
As a child she went hunting and fishing, rode horses and entered beauty pageants.
She was raised Catholic but at 16 became an atheist when her best friend passed away in a car crash.
Twelve months later she left school and went to Los Angeles to become an actress.
She came out in 2010, but said: "I don't label myself one way or another—I have had successful relationships with men and now a woman. I love who I love; it's the person that matters."
Last April 8 she became mum to daughter Oonagh Paige Heard via surrogate.
She wrote on Insta: "Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms.
"My daughter was born on April 8, 2021. Her name is Oonagh Paige Heard.
She's the beginning of the rest of my life."
Oonagh in Scottish means pure and holy and Paige is to remember her late mother Paige, who died in 2020 aged 63.
Amber said her mum was "the most beautiful woman I had ever known" in an Instagram post.
