American figure skater Amber Glenn secured her first-ever Grand Prix title at the Grand Prix de France in Angers. Despite facing challenges during her free skate, including a fall and doubts, Glenn's strong performance in the short program and the unwavering support of the audience propelled her to victory with a total score of 210.44 points.
Glenn's triumph was followed by Japanese skaters Wakaba Higuchi and Rion Sumiyoshi, who finished in second and third place, respectively. South Korea's Kim Chaeyeon slipped to fourth overall, while 17-year-old U.S. skater Sarah Everhardt impressed in her Grand Prix debut, finishing in fifth place.
In the men's event, Adam Siao Him Fa staged a remarkable comeback to clinch the title after a stellar free skate performance themed around 'Dune.' Despite starting in eighth place after the short program, Siao Him Fa dominated the competition with a total score of 246.58, securing his third consecutive home Grand Prix victory. Japan's Koshiro Shimada and U.S. skater Andrew Torgashev rounded out the men's podium.
Meanwhile, in ice dance, French pair Evgeniia Lopareva and Geoffrey Brissaud claimed the top spot with a score of 195.27, edging out the Italian duo of Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri. The U.S. pair of Emily Bratti and Ian Somerville secured third place with a strong performance.
Germany's Minerva Hase and Nikita Volodin emerged victorious in the pairs event, scoring 211.69 points to outshine the Italian pair of Sara Conti and Niccolo Macii. Another Italian duo, Rebecca Ghilardi and Filippo Ambrosini, rounded off the podium with a third-place finish.
Despite the ups and downs witnessed during the competition, the Grand Prix de France showcased the resilience and talent of the participating skaters, culminating in a series of captivating performances across various disciplines.
