Amber Gill gobsmacked at Gyles Brandreth's 'savage' Love Island comment

Former Love Island Amber Gill was left open-mouthed on Monday's This Morning as Gyles Brandreth referenced her time on the ITV2 show.

Amber won the fifth series of Love Island back in 2019 alongside Greg O'Shea and has been fully invested in the current series.

Appearing in the ITV studio alongside Gyles, Amber spoke to hosts Vernon Kay and Rochelle Humes about who she thinks will bag the £50,000 prize in tonight's final.

"If you win you actually get £50,000 which you can keep for yourself if you want, you didn't, you shared it with Greg. We'll discuss whether that was a mistake or not!" he told her.

Former Love Island Amber Gill was left open-mouthed on Monday's This Morning as Gyles Brandreth referenced her time on the ITV2 show (ITV)

Referring to the 2022 finalists, Gyles said bluntly: "We can forget Dami and Indiyah can't we?" as Amber giggled.

"Sorry, I'm just saying, I'm just saying," Gyles said as Amber told him: "I love them two."

"But you're full of love and look where it ended up with you!" Gyles then said as Vernon butted in and said: "Alright Gyles, thats a bit harsh!"

Amber looked pretty stunned as Gyles commented on her failed romance with Greg O'Shea (ITV)

Trying to explain his comment, Gyles continued: "She put herself on the Love Island... well, we'll come to that maybe a little moment, stay tuned!" as Amber was heard saying: "Oh my God, savage!"

Later on in the chat, Gyles was keen to talk more about Amber's failed romance with Greg as he grilled her: "And then what went wrong?"

Laughing awkwardly, Amber explained: "So I didn't really know him, he was only in for a week and then we won and you don't really know someone.

"When we got out we realised we're completely different people," she added, as Rochelle nodded her head understandably.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
