Amazon urges shoppers to do this 'crucial step' ahead of 2023 Prime Day sale

The official shopping dates for Amazon Prime Day are here, as the online retailer prepares to launch a wave of price drops this coming July. As thousands of discounts across tech, fashion, beauty, household and garden products are expected, Amazon has shared its tips to help shoppers find the best-reduced prices.

The 2023 Amazon Prime Day will fall on Tuesday, July 11 and Wednesday, July 12, but after covering the sales event year on year shoppers are bound to find 'surprise' discounts in the lead-up to the sale. In fact, the retailer has already confirmed 'early deals' will start as soon as today, where we've already seen £50 off Ninja Airfyers, up to £58 off GHD styling products and 70% off Android tablets.

Deals are expected to drop throughout the event, and if its anything like last year's event it won't be unusual to see hundreds of pounds taken off retail prices with little to no warning, so shoppers have to keep their eyes peeled. The most crucial step in getting a 'bargain' is in the sale name itself, 'Prime', as the event is only available to Amazon Prime shoppers.

As we get closer to the big discounts, Amazon are urging all its shoppers to do one thing in order to find the best prices, which is to sign up to Prime. The membership costs £8.99 a month, or £95 a year, and being a Prime member is the only way to get hold of the sale prices.

Unknown to many shoppers is that you don't have to pay the full price for an Amazon Prime membership to take part in the sale, thanks to its 'free trial'. Shoppers can sign up for a one-week trial of Prime for just 99p, and if timed right would get shoppers access to the sale, with the flexibility to cancel after.

On top of this, the online retail giant has also shared its tips to help shoppers filter out the products and deals. Along with out tried and tested consumer recommendations, like sticking to the lightning deals page, filtering the 'todays deals' section and household items in bulk, Amazon has shared its tips.

During Prime Day, hundreds if not thousands of deals will be posted so it can often be hard to find the cheapest price, or a deal on a specific brand. One thing Amazon suggests is to 'set up deal alerts'.

Prime members can subscribe to get notifications on price drops on products that have featured in their recent Amazon searched, this is particularly handy if you've had you eye on a product for a while. To get this, all shoppers have to do is visit the Prime Day event page and 'create deal alerts' before July 11.

The next tip is even more streamlined, and aimed at shoppers who already have an Amazon device, like the Alexa controlled Echo Dot. Shoppers can use their Alexa devices at home to add items to a wish list, cart or save for later, one the product is reduced in price Alexa will then notify shoppers.
